Each September, Park City hosts Autumn Aloft, an annual hot air balloon festival. This year’s festival is scheduled for Saturday, September 16th, and Sunday, September 17th, and will feature a grand launch, creating a dazzling display of eye candy for spectators as dozens of balloons are simultaneously launched. There will be lots of family-friendly fun and events, and all of the festival’s events are free of charge. Saturday and Sunday's launch events will take place on the North 40 Playing Fields directly behind Park City's Treasure Mountain Middle school, with the main launch of 24 balloons scheduled for around 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 16th.
A Saturday evening launch of eight baskets is scheduled for Saturday evening from 8:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. on Park City’s historic Main Street between 4th and 5th streets. All attendees should be aware that safety is the main priority of all Autumn Aloft events, and that the hot air balloon events may be affected by weather conditions, and/or wind speeds. Hot air balloon rides will not be offered, however tethered rides, while not guaranteed, may be offered on a first come, first served basis. Pets, drones, and smoking are prohibited.
