Within a few minutes of Newpark Resort, visitors can play pickleball on outdoor and indoor courts, throw a round of disc golf on two different courses, reserve tennis time indoors or out, and even ride the 2002 Olympic sliding track in a summer bobsled. Several of these venues are operated by Basin Recreation or Park City Municipal, which means public access and, at the outdoor parks, no charge. And if you’re staying at Newpark Resort, the Basin Recreation Fieldhouse is close enough to reach on foot.

Pickleball in Park City
The closest pickleball to Newpark Resort is the Basin Recreation Fieldhouse, about a 10- to 15-minute walk from the resort, and the best free outdoor courts are at Willow Creek Park, about 5 to 10 minutes away by car.
Basin Recreation Fieldhouse (1388 Center Dr) sits in the same Kimball Junction neighborhood as Newpark Resort, so you can leave the car parked. From November 1 through April 30, the gymnasium hosts indoor pickleball open play Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to noon for ages 18 and older. Open play is included with a Fieldhouse facility pass; current visitor facility day passes are $15 for adults and $11 for youth and seniors. Courts can also be reserved year-round with about 48 hours’ advance notice; current nonresident rates are $40 per hour for one court or $70 per hour for up to three.
Willow Creek Park (4460 Split Rail Ln, about 5 to 10 minutes by car) is the local outdoor pickleball hub: eight free hard courts with permanent lines, resurfaced in 2025. Community-organized open play typically runs daily from roughly 8:30 a.m. to noon with a friendly paddle-rotation system—an easy way to get games in as a visitor. The schedule can change, and the courts are officially first come, first served.
PC MARC (1200 Little Kate Rd, about 15 minutes away in Park City proper) offers reservable outdoor pickleball courts, along with indoor options that include a gym and a covered tennis bubble during the winter season. Current visitor court rates are $32 per hour outdoors and $80 per hour indoors, plus facility admission; adult visitor admission is currently $24. It costs more than the public park courts, but it can be worth it when guaranteed court time matters.

Disc Golf
Trailside Park has a free nine-hole course about 10 minutes from Newpark Resort, while Canyons Village has a seasonal, lift-accessed 18-hole course roughly 5 to 10 minutes away in the other direction.
Trailside Park (5715 Trailside Dr) is home to a nine-hole Basin Recreation course built in 2016. It’s free, no tee time is needed, and a round generally takes about an hour across rolling terrain with big Wasatch Back views. Fair warning: the sagebrush eats discs, so bring a spotter—or a backup driver.
Canyons Resort Disc Golf Course at Canyons Village is the step-up round: 18 holes played down the mountain after riding the Red Pine Gondola. Purchase the appropriate scenic-lift access through Park City Mountain, ride up, and play your way back down. The course is seasonal, and access depends on the gondola’s operating schedule and weather conditions.

Tennis
PC MARC has indoor and outdoor tennis courts open to visitors, about 15 minutes from Newpark Resort.
The PC MARC is Park City’s racquet-sports headquarters, with indoor and outdoor tennis courts, online reservations, instruction, and a pro shop. Its covered bubble is a winter-season option, so check the current schedule if indoor play is important. Public courts at Willow Creek and Trailside parks round out the free options when the weather cooperates.
Racquetball
Silver Mountain Sports Club & Spa in Prospector offers racquetball with day-pass access.
If racquetball is your game, Silver Mountain Sports Club & Spa (2080 Gold Dust Ln, about 15 minutes from Newpark) offers a court with day-pass access. The current adult day-pass rate is $30, and the pass also includes lap pools, saunas, and a full gym to make an afternoon of it.
Beyond the Courts
Competition in Park City doesn’t stop at net sports.
Golf. Park City has two public 18-hole courses: Canyons Golf at Canyons Village (par 70, more than 550 feet of elevation change, about 5 to 10 minutes from Newpark) and Park City Golf Club (par 72, municipal, about 15 minutes away).
